Allowing special (accented) characters in usernames

Hello everyone,

I’m currently working with OpenIAM version 4.2.1.12 and I would like to know if there is a way to allow special characters (specifically accented French characters like é, è, ç, â, etc.) in user identifiers such as usernames, login IDs, or display names.

Is there a configuration setting, script customization, or policy adjustment that would allow this?
Also, are there known limitations or risks when using such characters (e.g., compatibility with AD, LDAP, or internal validation issues)?

Any insight or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

You must configure it from the administration menu → System configuration
